History

Silver Solutions 1445 PTY LTD trading as CECS Reg. No. 2023/662253/07 acquired CECS Laboratory in 2020.
CECS is a SANAS-accredited laboratory complying to IS0/IEC 17025:2017.
We are also a proud level 1 BBBEE contributor.

THE COLLIERIES DUST AND VENTILATION LABORATORIES

The Transvaal and Orange Free State Collieries Dust and Ventilation Laboratories have a rich history and were established in 1954.

On 1 March 1981, the name of the department was officially changed from Colliery Dust and Ventilation laboratories to Collieries Environmental Control Service (CECS) with Mr. Y.J.F. Haven as the first appointed manager of the department. 

On 31 January 1988, it was decided to slot CECS in with Colliery Training College and the Rescue Drilling Unit to establish Collieries Technical Services (CTS).

On 01 December 2020, the Laboratory was aquired by Silver Solutions.
The old accreditation T0275 of Colliery Training College was transferred to Silver Solutions with a new accreditation number T0970 on the 3rd of December 2020.
